Here’s What Our Pupils and Parents Have to Say
At our school, we pride ourselves on creating a supportive, nurturing, and engaging environment where children can thrive. But don’t just take our word for it—hear directly from the families who are part of our school community. Our parents and pupils often share their positive experiences, from the caring staff and welcoming atmosphere to the exciting learning opportunities and friendships made. Their words reflect the heart of what makes our school so special.
Parents:
" We couldn’t be happier with our experience at CBS Primary Midleton. From day one, it’s been clear that the staff genuinely put the children first. Their commitment to learning through play has sparked our son’s natural curiosity and helped him develop a real love of learning. The school is always warm and welcoming, and the dedication of the teachers and staff goes far beyond our expectations. Our son is thriving here, and we’re so grateful to be part of such a supportive school community"
-Elaine & Henry Sheehan, Jack's parents
"Our son is very happy in the CBS and has been since Day 1. He really enjoys the numerous fun activities put on by the school and has been lucky enough to represent the school in different outside athletics events. The staff are full of energy and know each of their students; we particularly like the smaller class sizes and deem it a real plus of the school. Niamh, (Principal), has a presence about her in and around the school and can always be seen at the gates at the end of the day. The school is great to celebrate their students' achievements both in and out of the classroom and staff can always be relied upon to get involved in all events. This is great to see and it's clear the students love it too. Particular days/events that stand out for our son are the school tours, the Significant Family Member Day, Merck Curiosity Cube visiting, soccer league, Cork City Sports, East Cork Athletics events, 6th Class vs teachers sports day and the annual Splash Day. It wouldn't be right to not mention Alfie and Steve, which are an integral part of the school and are loved by all. They are a fantastic addition and provide immeasurable benefits to staff and students alike."
Jeremy and Joyce Boyle, Oran's Parents
"Gorąco polecam CBS Midleton, mój syn Antoni uczęszcza do klasy autystycznej. Uśmiechnięty jedzie i wraca ze szkoły, a to znaczy dla nas rodziców bardzo wiele. W każdym roku wspólnie z nauczycielem przygotowujemy plan na cały semestr. Świetnie współpracuje się z nauczycielami i sna, wszyscy są bardzo pomocni i mili. Nie mogliśmy marzyć o lepszej szkole dla naszego syna.
I have a lot of experience with the school as my two sons attended there. My youngest son is in an autism class and we couldn't dream about a better school for him. He goes to school and comes back from school with smile on his face. Teachers and SNAs are very helpful and very nice. He does a special programme every summer."
-Gosia Zienkiewicz, Maciej & Antoni's Mom
"Our son started CBS in 2024 and settled in on his first day. He is attending junior infants in his special class, he has Autism and had very little speech, from the minute we met his teachers and other staff we were at complete ease sending him here, obviously we had first day parent nerves but they soon went when he waved us off. We cannot put into enough words how happy we are with the school, the community feeling within the school is amazing, to see the difference in our son after completing his first year here is amazing. His speech has come on so much, to hear him sound letters, recognise numbers or tell us something about school is something we never taught we'd see or hear from him. Even meeting staff who celebrate his achievements and they're not even in his class makes us feel so happy. Alfie and Steve are another fantastic addition to the school and very much loved, anyone who accepts a place here for their child can be assured that their child are going to be well looked after and respected by all members of staff, thanks CBS for an amazing first year of school, looking forward to what the year ahead brings for us all"
Gillian & Thomas Curran, Ciarán's parents, Senior Infants
"Midleton C.B.S. Primary School is a vibrant and nurturing community where learning is a joyful adventure! Under the inspiring leadership of Principal Niamh vice principal Jason and the dedication of teachers and the entire staff, our children receive a well-rounded education that fosters academic excellence, creativity, and personal growth. Special mention to the wonderful SNAs our amazing secretary Letitia and Denis, who provide invaluable support, and to Alfie and Steve, our therapy dogs, who bring joy and comfort to our school community. A truly special place where children thrive and memories are made!"

Our son Blake has just started 3rd Class and I can’t recommend this school highly enough. The help and support from the all members of staff and management is second to none. Blake loves going to school everyday and comes home with a big smile on his face.
You won’t have any regrets sending your child to this amazing school.

"Midleton CBS Primary is a warm and welcoming school. There is a real sense of community spirit and a wonderful learning environment from the moment you step inside the door. Our three boys have attended Midleton CBS Primary over the last ten years with no regrets. We have always found the dedicated staff and teachers to be approachable, kind and supportive. This school has a fantastic ethos of manners and respect for everyone, and the well-being of each child is priority. As parents, we have watched our sons grow and thrive in this happy and fun environment. Each child is encouraged to reach their full potential in all areas, academic, sports related or otherwise. Our boys loved attending CBS and the fact that they have two school therapy dogs on-site was just the icing on the cake!"
-Christine & Eoin McCarthy, Harry & Jack's Parents
"My son attended CBS until he moved to secondary school. At all times I found the teachers very professional who delivered excellent education more importantly they instilled very important values in him. He has grown up to be a fine, independent, kind, happy and confident young man.
My daughter has also worked as a temporary teacher over the last two years while she has been studying in Mary I, Limerick . She has also found the school a very positive friendly and place. At all times the focus has been on the child’s education and well being. She always enjoys teaching there.!"
-Sinead Dunlea, Scott's Mum

-Deirdre Byrne, Aaron, Ethan & Patrick's Mum
"As the parent of an anxious child starting in CBS last year in 1st class, transferring from St Bridget's Senior Infants mixed class...I am extremely happy and grateful for the support you showed my son adjusting to the new school and managing his anxiety. By mid year he was running into school happy and on the days he was feeling overwhelmed or upset going into school and clinging to me crying, I can honestly say the situation was handled with great empathy, care and minimal distress to my little boy. I think the 2 lovely school dogs Alfie and Steve are an amazing asset as my son loves animals and gets great comfort from them.
As 2nd Class started there were no issues at all on the first day and I think this is due to the great experience he had in 1st Class whereas every year previous he would have been anxious and cling to me and not want to go in but now he feels comfortable and safe and enjoys his time in CBS.
Thank you."
-Sharon King, Senan's Mum
"We’re so thankful for the incredible support our sons have received since joining CBS primary. The staff have gone above and beyond to help them settle in and grow with confidence. Most importantly, they’ve created a space where they feel comfortable being themselves—and that has made all the difference. As parents, we’re also deeply appreciative of the school’s Catholic ethos, which is reflected in the kindness, respect, and values nurtured in the school community.
Our boys also absolutely love the school’s therapy dogs, Alfie and Steve—they’ve brought so much joy and comfort and are such a special part of their school experience."
-Carol & Barry, Henry & Scot's Parents

" I like going to school here as its really easy to fit in as there’s lots of people to be friends with. There’s lots of sports and activities also. I really like the pop-up activities throughout the year- cake sales, Monsters on the move, Splash Day, Movie Night. I also enjoy the creative freedom of writing and writing articles for the newsletter and taking part in Creative schools activities."

Charlie, 6th Class
"I love this school because I can take our dogs, Alfie and Steve for a walk most days. They’re fluffy and nice to rub and if I’m sad or cross they calm me. They’re also lots of fun to play with. We play ball together and I love it. This is me with Steve, he loves to play ball with me."
George, 5th Class
