MEET OUR STUDENT COUNCIL
Midleton C.B.S. Primary School holds that the pupils should play an active, positive role in the life of the school and we believe that our Student Council will help to achieve this.
Our School’s Student Council will be comprised of one representative from each of the classes from fourth to sixth along with An Solas and An Seagán.
The role of the Student Council will be to:
- Provide an opportunity for pupils to voice their opinions and offer suggestions in relation to many aspects of school life
- Discuss issues relevant to the school and encourage and promote initiatives from the pupils
- Offer an opportunity for all pupils to voice their opinions on proposed changes and thereby play a very important role in improving our school
- Act as a channel for communication within the school, between pupils and between home and school
- Encourage pupils and thereby their parents to organise events central to the life of the school
- Provide an opportunity to raise funds for charities or our school equipment fund.
Student Councils have an important role to play in the organisation of events such as;
- Junior Yard Buddy System
- School Concert/School Musical
- Open Days
- Sports Day
- Welcoming New Pupils
- Graduation Day for Sixth Class
- School News
- Non-Uniform Day
In September, our new members for 2023/24 were elected. Our newest members are Jordan, Jacob, Conor Grant, Dylan, Adam, Sean, Conor Geary and Daniel. In October, we held an assembly to announce the members newly appointed to our Student Council. The boys have been elected after some fantastic election campaigns and we know they will do great things in the year ahead.
