SFI Curious Minds Awards
Over the last number of years we have recieved the SFI Curious Minds Award and the positive feedback each year has been a testament to the hard work of our wonderful pupils and staff. Read some of the feedback we have receieved below!
2023-2024
Congratulations to everyone at Midleton CBS on your award! The log of your SFI Curious Minds experiences clearly provides evidence of the STEM activities in your school this year, and it’s great to see whole school involvement. I was so impressed by your podcast episode and your termly newsletter, they are fantastic initiatives, and you obviously put a lot of work into them which is commendable. Your animation workshops looked like so much fun, and I really enjoyed watching the Lego cars racing each other. I also loved seeing learners enjoying activities during Space Week, Maths Week and STEM Week. Well done and keep up the amazing work. It is a real credit to the pupils and teachers for all the work you have done!
2022-2023
Very good presentation of your STEM work. The log clearly demonstrates evidence of an impressive range of STEM engagement across the school, incorporating key speakers, STEM Weeks and projects. Some fantastic activities for Space Week, and your maths section was particularly strong with lots of innovative hands-on maths lessons. Very obvious enthusiasm and activity with the pupils. You should be very proud of your hard work and we hope you had fun too. Congratulations!
2022
Congratulations to all the learners in Midleton CBS on your application for the Plaque in STEM. It contained a wide range of photos and videos with plenty of evidence to show that you engaged with many STEM activities and really enjoyed the experiences.
Your reports of STEM activities which regularly feature in your very professionally produced magazine is a great way to show case your work. Your videos on Facebook are another great way of letting the community see the excitement of STEM.
You are worthy recipients of the DPSM Plaque 2022. Well done.
2021
Congratulations on achieving your Plaque of STEM in what was a challenging year. It was great to see such a rich and varied range of STEAM activities being carried out throughout your school. We enjoyed seeing the nature trails and your litter picking work for your community, your parachutes, boats and light investigations, your Maths quizzes, and Space Week and Maths Week activities. Well done to your filmmakers of the future for their videos. Great to see your whole school approach to Engineers Week and all those fantastic engineering projects. Your blog entries conveyed a real commitment and enthusiasm for STEM in your school. Very well done to all concerned.
2019 / 2020
Congratulations on your award. It was great to see the learners getting involved and planting school garden. It was a delight to watch the 6th class video productions and clear that the learners enjoyed the process of putting them together. Even in what was a very difficult year it's great to see that the students got so much done, including space week and maths week! Well done and keep up the great work !
