4th Class Indoor Hurling Blitz.
In February two fourth class teams played in a hurling blitz in St Anthony's Boys’ National School, Cork. The competition consisted of two groups of 4 teams.
Each team played the other in the group stage. CBS Team A and Team B were in the same group. Both teams played their hearts out and represented the school with distinction and honour. CBS Team A topped group A while St. Anthony's A topped group B.
St. Anthony's A and Midleton CBS A took part in an epic final that was hard fought and closely contested. Our boys showed fantastic spirit and determination and challenged for every ball. The final score saw St. Anthony's beat Midleton CBS by a scoreline of 4-2.
All of our fine hurlers should be extremely proud of their efforts and we look forward to more upcoming GAA competitions and events in the near future.
Third Class Blitz Our third class hurlers travelled to Little Island to play the annual indoor blitz (non-competitive). We had two good victories over Bunscoil Mhuire, Youghal and St. Joseph’s N.S,, Cobh and lost narrowly to Castlemartyr N.S.. This was enough to qualify for the semi-final and another meeting with Castlemartyr. After a thrilling 2-2 draw, the game was decided on the “Golden Goal” which went to Castlemartyr. Well done to all concerned in what a very enjoyable outing.
